About Bob Foster
Bob Foster’s extensive background spans several decades and is unusually eclectic in that it runs from the assembly lines of Detroit to the boardrooms of Fortune 500 companies; and from the fishing grounds of Alaska and Mexico to the world of high-tech startups. In every case, whether as consultant, CEO, or board member, Bob brought his pragmatic—and often controversial—approach to solving business problems.
Not limited to private enterprise, Bob has successfully worked as a consultant with numerous government agencies and non-profit organizations to help them improve their operations. Above all else, Foster has experienced the joy and trials of the small-business owner by starting and overseeing several of his own businesses.
Early in his career Foster realized that businesses were failing at a far greater rate than the media or the government was acknowledging. That is when he began to dedicate himself to helping small-business owners recover from serious problems in their enterprise—in some cases saving their business. He continues to support small business through his books, articles, business guides, and personal business coaching.
A graduate of Kettering University, Foster is now sharing some of his experience and knowledge with small-business owners through his new book, entitled Be Your Own Turnaround Manager: A Common Sense Guide to Managing a Business Crisis. This book will be released Spring 2008.
Bob is now working on his next book—for the smaller small business—and divides his time between the desert of southern Nevada and the Rocky Mountains of Montana.
